Beautiful preowned Neve VR60FF console with 60 channels, 48 multi-track buses, 8 aux buses, 4 mixdown buses, left-hand patch bay, Flying Faders with computer, tower rack, power supplies, and manuals
If you’ve researched the VR60FF, doubtless you’ve read some conflicting stories about its sound quality. To put that to rest, Al Schmitt, winner of 23 Grammys, including 9 for best-engineered recording, which included Steely Dan’s Aja and Toto IV, prefers to work on the Neve VR at Capitol Records. Another militant tone snob by the name of Frank Zappa also had a Neve VR60 with Flying Faders at his home studio; The Utility Muffin Research Kitchen. The price of the pre-owned VR60FF is listed for the console “as-is.” Service packages with PAD’s leading tech staff are available at additional expense-also great for the DIY engineer who wants to save a lot of money!

Neve VR60FF-Beneath the Surface:
The VR-series console retained the build quality and technical performance of its predecessors, but added new levels of sophistication. Through a fully developed recall system and moving fader automation system, the VR offered all of the established qualities associated with Neve consoles combined with an ease and speed of operation that in its day were unchallenged.
Recall
All VR consoles are equipped to accept high-resolution, VGA color graphics display and Neve VR software, which enable storage and recall of rotary, push-button, and fader controls. The system can be used in either automatic or individual channel mode, and has been designed with the emphasis on ease of speed of operation, with crystal-clear, full-color graphics, and many unique features.
Neve Flying Faders
The world’s first moving fader automation system was pioneered by Neve in the ’70s. During the ’80s, Neve partnered with Martinsound Technologies and redefined the state of the art in console automation with Flying Faders, Neve’s fourth generation moving fader console automation system.
With virtually unlimited mix memory, high-resolution color VDU with Microsoft window displays, modular software, and the famous Neve touch-sensitive “instinctive update” method of operation, Flying Faders provide for the widest range of user needs of any automation system, from the simplest one-button operation to the most complex production setups.
PAD Fun Fact–The VR series was developed under AMS Neve’s project manager David Pope. According to a reliable source, the “V” designation for the series stood for “The Vatican,” which was a subtle nod to Pope.
